Despite its small size and it’s resemblance to a shed, this house has lots of character and individuality. This one-storey house developed by LLP arkitektkontor is located in Visby, Gotland, Sweden and has elegance with slight Swedish overtones. The front of the house has a glass wall that spans over the entire length of the building, allowing an abundance of natural light to pour through, as well as giving the inhabitants a beautiful view of the scenery. When you walk inside of this house the rooms are actually quite spacious considering the size of this construction, and the gorgeous natural pine flooring and white walls only add to its openness. The furniture is simple, yet functional and each piece adds some colour into the room

Working with a very open and indulgent space, the designers of the company Geometrix Design have developed a bold modern apartment in the city of Moscow with lots of interesting features. In this apartment you can see some very unique and interesting design choices from the creators, such as the very futuristic appearance that seems to ooze out of every room. The living room makes the most of the space by creating a angular and gloss effect TV workstation that allows for everything to be hidden away if necessary. The arm chairs are also very reminiscent of the sci-fi theme with the focus being clearly linked to shows such as Star Trek! The bedroom also has some very unusual features such as the patterned wall and back-lit images.

This classical American home created by Witt Construction is a true gem hidden amongst a quiet street on the coast of Maine, USA. The house itself is fairly large and has been constructed using slate and wood with a cream coloured overcoat. The beautifully shaped windows in this house are a real feature and help to add to the classical feel. Inside this house you are greeted by an immaculately decorated interior with a feeling of space and tranquillity. One of the real highlights of this house is the converted seating area in the bay window on the stairs, what a wonderful place to ponder your thoughts over a hot cup of tea! The rooms are functional and each of them has their own satisfying colour schemes that match the styling of the house wonderfully.

This cute, cosy little home is located amongst beautifully tall trees in a wooden area near Denver, USA and oozes rusticism and natural traditionalism. The exterior has been created using large wooden logs and is built up on rocks and boulders, adding a wonderful natural feel to the whole house. Every detail has been perfectly executed, from the structure of the exterior to the steel handles on the doors. When you enter into the house, you are greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel calm and at ease. The walls utilise the wooden frame of the house, while the natural beams and flooring help to keep the traditional styling alive. Every piece of furniture has been made using natural materials, such as the wooden dining set and the stone fire surround. The house was implemented by Teton Heritage Builders.

This wonderfully modern and contemporary apartment was designed for warmth, comfort and functionality by the design team at ZE|WORKROOM Studio in Moscow. Although this apartment is only 100 square meters, it has an abundance of light and space with its large windows and white walls. The designers have created a space which has warmth, comfort and best of all functionality. Having such a large space in which to work from, the designers have created a fantastic open plan living area, which makes the apartment feel larger than it really is. The decor is minimalistic with its wooden flooring contrasting beautifully with the white walls, the wooden panelled ceilings and the simplistic furniture that helps carry off the whole design. There are a few very quirky elements added to this design to give it character, such as the wavy tiles in the bathroom and the graffiti tiled toilet room with a striking red undertone.

With a slatted exterior and a tall cubist form, this house is simple, modern and very functional. The house has a scattering of small and large windows that allow just enough light in to brighten up every room and help to give the interior and bright and airy feel. The house also benefits from a ground floor garage and a garden which has some beautiful flowering plants and vegetation. The house is located in the historic district of Cleveland, Ohio, USA and was created and designed by Bucchieri Architects. The interior mimics the exterior of the house with clean lines and minimal embellishment. The furniture is very angular in appearance which corresponds wonderfully well with the exterior shape of the structure.

This very unusually shaped house is located in a prestigious area with absolutely stunning views of the mountains. The exterior of the house has been designed with sandy coloured tones which helps it to blend into its desert environment more easily, whilst the organic smooth walls mimic the surrounding sand dunes. The very design of this building creates a private area for the owners, which is home to a secret oasis within the grounds. The interior of the house is magnificent, with mixtures of modern and eclectic styling and colourful furniture added to break up the neutral tones. The house is not short of character either with many colourful lights being added to help give a more interesting look and feel. Project of Deep River Partners.

This fantastically bright building is a modern extension to an existing house that was originally built in the 1930′s. Developed by the American company, OKB Architecture, this contemporary addition has an unusual design with its bright green panels, and a lovely little roof-top terrace that can be accessed via the stairs to the side of the building. Inside, the interior feels surprisingly big and has plenty of room for lots of people. It has been designed with modern styling in mind and has neutral wooden flooring and white walls in every room to maximise the feeling of openness and space. The addition of spotlights in the main living area help to keep the room from feeling cluttered and small and also help to brighten up even the smallest corners of the room.
