Billiards rooms can be a hodgepodge of various styles, or they can represent one unique individual idea. This collection of 20 billiards rooms shows how far the gamut can run. Some of the billiards tables are ones that are easily recognizable while others have been custom built. An antique pool table made of rich cherry sits in a room lined in similar materials. Another billiards table constructed from shiny chrome sits on a thick, protruding base. Meant to stand out on its own, the rest of the room has been designed minimally. Purple felt sits atop of a different pool table. The entire room is based on sports, with autographed posters and sports jerseys plastered on the walls. When properly designed, billiards rooms can be real works of art.

Tree Lined Suburban Home with Black Interior

The accent color of choice in this home designed by Skylab Architecture. The black door, painted black, opens to a dominating black support column and eat-in kitchen. The center kitchen island is made of gray granite, and holds the cooking range and sink. The cabinets are flat black and so indistinguishable from one another that where they individually end and begin is unclear. Soft brown wood gives the house a more organic feel in hall and living room. Strong black accent pieces appear sporadically. The bathroom boasts fantasy themed walls. Made from three dimensional diamond shaped tiles, the walls contain thousands of gentle angles that stimulate the eye. A white soaking tub comes with a steel faucet attached to the wood wall.

Dark, but not always brooding, black in any area of interior design creates intense contrast and also has sultry qualities. Check out these photos and learn 28 different to put up black curtains in your home in unique and creative ways. For drama and sophistication, black curtains are a top choice by default. There’s no way to miss them when they are sheer and give the sunlight flowing in an ominous tone. Black curtains can also block out the light altogether. Their ability to affect how light shines, and be used represent the absence of color altogether makes them a powerful tool. Floor length black curtains, especially those hung up in the living area, can take control and greatly influence the structure of a room.

With absolutely stunning views of the surrounding Manhattan cityscape, this very clean and modern home is the epitome of purity. Then main living area has a gorgeously rich wooden flooring that has been buffered to give it a subtle sheen. It goes contrasts beautifully with the white walls and helps to give the condo depth and dynamism. Slight injections of colour can be seen from the artwork and items within the bookcase to help add some life into the white rooms. The kitchen is just as pure and clean as the main living area, with beautiful white cabinets and marble work surfaces. Project of Tara Benet Design.

This Manhattan apartment explodes with luxuries, embellishments, accents and over the top details. Behind a modern fireplace is an exposed brick wall, partially covered in white paint. Maroon colored, armless dining room chairs are cozily tucked away under a small, square table. Wide window frames, ceiling beams and a black, baby grand piano reflect elegance and classical style. A wide light wood beam stands at the end of the kitchen island, which features stainless steel appliance and modern décor. With only an hour’s drive from Boston, USA, this beautifully compact house looks picturesque against the backdrops of nature. It was completely renovated by design and architectural firm Labhaus and has gained a modern and minimalistic style. The house blends harmoniously into the surrounding woodland thanks to its relatively inoffensive size, yet the modern nature of the house seems to contrast amazingly well with nature. The interior is warm and inviting and really oozes modernistic and contemporary styling. Despite its compact size, the house contains amenities which accentuate the design. The living room is offset by a minimalist galley kitchen. Consideration has been given to the appropriate shower and best small toilet facilities to fit the bijou bathroom. The flooring and surrounding wooden furniture help to give the interior a warm and soft feel, which is a wonderful contrast from the white and bold exterior. With gorgeous styling and a relaxing setting, this house truly is a piece of art.

This charming, rather interesting loft apartment is a fantastic space created by Jayanti Lal and is located in Toronto, Canada. The living area is a wonderful space, with rustic and contemporary objects making it look eclectic in style and textured in design. The very rugged brick wall is such a beautiful feature as it adds some real depth to the whole room. On the other side of the partition lies a dark and dramatic kitchen, with black cabinets, dark flooring and black walls that are used as a chalkboard. The study area is the complete opposite to the kitchen with pure white walls, neutral wooden flooring and white objects that help give the room light and a sense of space. With a traditional style and elegant aura, this pool house is as pretty as a picture. The architects at the company Northworks Architects and Planners were commissioned to design this cottage near the pool with a total area of around 50 square meters. It’s main function is to supplement to the main house and includes a kitchenette, living room and utility room in the basement for all of the pool accessories. The whole construction is covered in windows to allow lots of light into the mini hide-out and has stunning views of the surround garden. The project reflects the environment and was developed in collaboration with landscape designer, Craig Bergmann.
