With 20 years of experience supervising film visual effects in Los Angeles, David brings a wealth of knowledge and creative vision to his architectural photography. During 2011 he was the Co-Visual Effects Supervisor of the team that won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects in “Life of Pi.” He relocated to Denver in 2012 and is available for assignments nationwide.
He developed his successful architectural photography business alongside his VFX work in Los Angeles. There he found endless inspiration in world-class architecture to fine-tune his craft, in particular the work of the mid-century modernists. Not surprisingly he is also drawn to the work of the photographers who captured that era such as Ernie Braun, Ezra Stoller and Julius Shulman.
David draws upon his highly trained eyes to create precise architectural photographs with inviting compositions. His sensitivity to light and shadow always gives his work a natural, often alluring quality. A perfectionist by nature, David is passionate about delivering the highest quality images and spends a great deal of time after the shoot polishing images by hand in post production. He does not use automatic or gimmicky methods, instead gives each image personal attention to achieve the desired result. He enjoys working with his clients in the creative process to deliver images that are compelling and memorable.
