Located in the historic neighborhood, the Village of Longboat Key, this elevated two story home was inspired by the panoramic views of North Sarasota Bay, Jewfish Key and Cortez Bridge. The staggered, triple gable design was driven by capturing these views. The surrounding neighborhood features small retreats of the Florida vernacular.
The masonry structure stands atop deep concrete pilings. The home was required to be elevated creating covered at-grade parking and storage space below the home. The main living level features wide open views from the living room, kitchen and dining area. Wrap around porches extend the living space toward the open waters of the bay. The upper living level hosts a study, master suite and another bedroom suite each having their own balcony. The beamed, tongue and groove ceiling, board and batten walls, bamboo floors and stainless steel railings are cleanly detailed for a modern look.
This home has received Platinum certification from USGBC’s LEED for Homes program.
