We were tasked with designing a family room that even the family dog could enjoy. Using appropriate fabrics such as leather and mohair that were balanced by drapes of natural linen we added warmth to the interior decorating of this room without comprising its practicality.
We started with a family heirloom table with dark wood and traditional lines – we knew we could create a fresh, modern nook to showcase the client’s objects collected during trips abroad. Grasscloth wallpaper gives the space texture and depth without creating a stark, formal gallery setting. An updated wingback chair features squared arms, nailhead detailing and glazed linen with a hint of reflective sheen. The persimmon pillow, which reflects colors in artwork on the wall, adds an important pop.
